Bogue Machine Company is a Veteran-owned precision machining company headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They specialize in precision milling and turning of a vast number of conventional and exotic materials, serving customers in the defense and aerospace industries. “We bought our first Mazak machine from Magnum Precision Machines in the 1970s, from Rick Edgar”, owner Mark Bogue said, “and it is still making parts on the floor today”. (Rick Edgar founded Magnum Precision Machines, and today it is headed up by Chris Edgar, his son).

“Our philosophy at Bogue is to purchase the best equipment so that we can provide our customers with the best parts”, Mark said. “Even in our early years of business we held to this belief. We don’t buy throw-away machines because you can’t produce good quality parts without good quality equipment”, he elaborated.

Today, the company owns 16 Mazak machines, and they are the largest privately held machine shop in New Mexico with this number of Mazaks. Their large facility operates 4 cells today.

“We purchase 2 new machines each year on average”, Mark said, “and we always look at competitive machines just to make sure we are purchasing the best technology possible”. The Mazak machines continue to be Bogue’s final decision in new purchases.

“Local service is important to us since we need our machines up and running all the time”, Mark said.
 Magnum Precision Machines has local sales and service, and when we have a machine down, their service person comes to our facility typically the same day we call”, he elaborated. Mark says the support at Magnum Precision Machines is phenomenal.

Further, Mark says the support Bogue receives from Mazak Corporate is outstanding. “It is rare that we have a machine down that can’t be fixed by Magnum, because their service staff is extremely knowledgeable, but when it happens, we get support, onsite if needed, from Mazak.

“The relationship we have with our suppliers is an important criteria in our purchase decisions”, Mark said. “Chris Edgar is a sharp business man -- he is aggressive and successful -- and this is one reason we continue to do business with him”. Mark said.
